Denver Rose Society Show Poster
The Denver Rose Society has been promoting roses and educating Colorado residents since 1947.
Their annual competitive rose show takes place at the Denver Botanic Gardens. This poster was created as a marketing item to promote the show and raise awareness of the society and annual rose show at the botanical gardens. The poster was hand painted using a magenta ink wash with line work for the florals and typography.

1. Sketches
Quick thumbnails for a vertical poster were sketched for ideation purposes to help choose a layout.

2. Refining the composition
After sketching a few ideas, one was selected to be the design and cleaned up digitally.

3. Color
Three different color combinations were created and the monochrome pink on pink was the finalist.

4. Hand Painted Art
Using an ink wash and ink line work the flower bouquet and typography were created separately and then merged together digitally for the poster.
